Plan a mobile app around real users

TFAST Digital Agency

Before listing app screens, describe the task someone needs to complete on a phone. Devices, connectivity and release arrangements come next.

Describe one complete journey

For an ordering app, explain how a person chooses an item, enters delivery details and knows the order was received. For a staff app, use an everyday task from the job. Include what happens when a step fails or a person needs to correct a mistake.

Know the phones and connection

Tell us whether the app is for Android, iOS or both, and which devices people already use. Explain where the connection may be unreliable. Offline work needs clear rules about what is saved on the phone and what happens when it reconnects.

List data and permissions

Identify the records, user accounts and other services the app needs. Features such as location, camera access, notifications and payments need a reason to be included. Discuss privacy information and who will manage the data alongside the feature list.

Plan testing and release ownership

Decide who owns the app-store accounts, approves releases and handles support. Test the main tasks on representative devices before launch. Store reviews and third-party approvals are outside the developer’s direct control, so avoid treating an unapproved release date as certain.
