Website carePlanning guide

Give your website a maintenance plan

TFAST Digital Agency

Website maintenance needs a named owner, a list of regular checks and a way to report problems. Agree those details before something stops working.

Record who manages what

Keep the domain, hosting and website accounts documented, along with renewal dates and recovery contacts. Name the people responsible for content and enquiries. The business should be able to recover access if a staff member or supplier changes.

Test what customers actually use

Check phone numbers, opening hours, links and enquiry forms. Complete the main tasks on a phone as well as a computer. If a form sends email, verify where the message arrives; a success message on the website is not enough.

Agree updates and backup checks

Identify who installs updates, checks backups and tests a restore. The right schedule depends on the site and how often it changes. Record how urgent problems should be reported and what the support arrangement covers.

Separate care from new development

A content correction and a new booking system are different jobs. Keep a list of requested changes so they can be reviewed and quoted. A written maintenance scope helps everyone know which work is included and which needs a separate agreement.
